Adzryl's Birth - As told by Mr. MFF

dear all,

i know dis would my 2nd time i'm doing a post here in Mrs. Bride's blog.
plus i'm not to gud in words myself.
but, all i want to do here is too share a husband's view of the story of Adzryl's birth.

03 July 2009
work in office was kinda busy as i had new model introduction dat same day ( Friday).
sayang kept on calling me to come home early as she didn't feel much sihat.
finally, i finished my work at 8.10pm & rushed home to find sayang on bed.
she was so tired & weak. i had a quick bath & off we went to the clinic.
the doctor confirmed the sudden fever & checked her BP at the same time.
for the third time, her BP was 140 ( upper ).
as a doctor, he worried about Baby Jr. inside.
so, he made a reference letter for additional checkup at the hospital.
at first, i thot, the high BP was due to her fever.
but juz to confirm again & thinking it would be a short checkup, off we went to Putrajaya Hospital ( PH ).

at the hospital,
from ER, we moved to Dewan Bersalin to do the checkup.
1.00am, the nurse informed me that sayang had to be admitted.
deposit paid!! and the waiting continues...

around 3am plus, barulah sayang can go up to the ward.
i met up with her at Ward 2B & went back home to pickup some stuff for her.
it was kinda sad to leave her alone at the ward.
but i know she was in gud hands.
imagine, my only meal was during breakfast on Friday.
so, on the way back, drive thru McD to buy the breakfast set.
arrived home at 5.15am.

04 July 2009
7.45am - informed mak & papa about sayang.
early dat morning, sayang was scheduled to be induced.
but, before that, PH's staff hd a fast checkup & found she's 3cm open..
the doctor holded the induce procedure & would like to follow up her in another 4 hours.
around 12pm plus, again the nurses brought her to the procedure room to confirm her condition.
now, its already 4 cm open.
i'm not to sure about the procedures here in PH.
but, it was time to pecahkan air ketuban.
a few minutes after dat, the nurses prepared her to go to the labour room.
before the nurse asked me to enter the labour room, i had to sign an
agreement related to the entry.
saying that PH won't be responsible on anything dat happens to me ( the husband ) during labour or delivery.

1.00pm, it all started.
me & sayang were in the labour room already.
once in awhile, the nurses asked me keluar sekejap to do their job.
1. servix opening check
2. urine removal ( manual ) thru hose.
3. internal CTG installation.

tips to husbands
1. always support ur wife, mentally & physically..
2. always urut her back, dat actually relieves her a bit.
3. always guide her to mengucap, selawat, ayat kursi & others.
4. always hold her hand.

i'm not to sure, why some husbands doesn't want to be in the labour room.
1. blood fear?
2. too lazy?
3. the thot of its the hospital staffs' job?

anyway, please give support to your wives.
its a super thing for them to do, risking their lives to deliever your own flesh & blood.

back to the story,
hour after hour, the contraction was getting worst.
sayang was really facing the pain.
i really can see her pain, trying to hold up & menahan the contraction.
kesian, but all i can do was to be with her at that time.
imagine no pain killers like pentodine or epidural.
note : epidural is not available in PH during weekends.

5pm plus, i was asked to keluar from the room.
from outside, you can hear the doctor & nurses are preparing sayang for the delivery.
by the time, they're ready, sayang was starting to push.
all i wanted to do was to be by her side.

remember the panting & breathing technique during antenatal class?
use them, they're really helpful.
it was kinda crowded inside with 2 doctors & 4 nurses.
i'm not sure why the full support, but at that time, i don't care much about them.
all i wanted was for sayang & Baby Jr. to be well.

6.05pm sharp, Adzryl Faheem was born, crying & full with blood.
the doctor placed Adzryl on sayang immediately after cutting the cord.
say what u want to say, but i bursted in tears happily to see sayang & Adzryl sihat walafiat.
imagine you're own son in front of you.
do tell me which husband doesn't feel anything when they see their child born well..
the nurse recovered Adzryl, cleaning him a bit & placed him under the warmer.
seconds later,
right ear, i "azan" him, left ear, i "qamat" him.
3kg, the weight of Adzryl at that time.



Alhamdullilah,
that is the story of Adzryl's birth from a husband's view..
it was quite an experience for me, a new daddy.

Mrs. Bride will have a share of her experience soon.
as for now, she's still in confinement stage & recovering as i speak.
