It's not actually "versus", but more like 'Bottle Warmer & Bottle Sterilizer'... Hehehe! :P
Got to know from my dearest Blogger Babe, Amie, that she just bought the Breast Pump, Bottle Warmer, and Bottle Sterilizer last weekend - all (or mostly) from Tommee Tippee!!! (Correct me if I'm wrong, Babe! :P)

I've been surveying (well, not that much though because there's too many brands in town) for all of that (Breast Pump, Bottle Warmer, Bottle Sterilizer) but up until now, I still can't decide!! Haih... Susah lah plak bila dah banyak sangat "brand" in town! Huhuhu... :(
Amie bought most of her Baby Feeding Products from Tommee Tippee (TT) & I think it's probably because she told me that she plans to use the TT BPA-Free bottles!

I might/may be lucky as some of you said before since my friend gave lots of Baby stuffs to me... Be it a Breast Pump, Bottles set, Swaddle Wrap, Clothes, etc etc!
Butttt... (no it's not "butt" as in the "arse" okeh! :P)
Now I have problems in choosing the right and most suitable Bottle Warmer and Bottle Sterilizer for our Baby Jr.!!

Sebabbb... The ones I got as an early Baby presents are... 1) A manual Breast Pump from Dr. Brown's & 2) A Bottles set from Breastflow - The First Years!! Ohh senang cite, refer to this previous entry!! :P Hmmm... My friend said that I can use the bottles & the pump together but I doubt it a bit... Teruk kan I? Huhuhu! Bukan tak percaya but being the fussy me (iyer saya mengaku saya seorang yang cerewet!! Go ask my siblings, my Husband, my close friends... I am one fussy lady, okeh! :P), I actually planned to get everything of the 'Baby Feeding Products' from the same brand! Senang nanti nak match²kan the stuffs... Huhuhu!

Beli yg suits all brands. Sbb by the time goes kan, bila anak you dah besar like 6months above, you might buy new bottles. So kalau nak stick to one brand, nanti u jadi mcm pening kepala, sbb baby products are not cheap. As baby grows, duit banyak pakai haha.
Bottle warmer - lebih mudah kalau beli yg duo function: pakai kat umah n also for traveling (cucuk dlm kereta). Juga yang boleh warm bottle n warm food. Juga yang cepat, less that 5 mins. Im using snowbear.
Strealiser - mine yg masuk dlm microwave (avent), morelike mcm your last pic or dr.brown tu, ni pun adiah kawan. Very convenient if you have microwave. 6 mins dah siap sterilized. My avent ni suits all type of bottles. Kalau yang jenis masuk2 tu mcm your picture tu, nanti tak sesuai utk btol2 lain. For me, yg penting leh suits utk all brands, sbb nanti kan.. bila baby dah lahir.. banyak org kasi2 adiah pe sumer hehe. plus tak buat kita pening nak beli produk in the future.
Tisyia ada set botol tommie tippie gak dulu, but she refused using it, sbb tommie tippie buat baby kena bukak mulut besar plus puting dia tak selembut yg disangka. But again, it is up to the baby. Avent pun, pastikan puting dia yang flat, jgn yg terkeluar, sbb nanti bibir baby n gigi tak cantik ekeke. Puting bentuk kuning yg bentuk bengkang bengkok tu kebanyakan baby suka, but i see many babies shape bibir tak lawa kalau pakai puting bengkang bengkok tu sbb puting tu cam besar. Neway, yang 1st year tu mmg bagus botol tu, sbb puting dia very soft, Tommie tippie pun x selembut baby 1st year tu. And baby 1st year tu, baby leh control the flow.
Anyway, mcm bottle warmer tu, you takpayah beli as early as now. Spnjg confinement tu tak perlu lagi benda tu.. take your time to survey dulu. Bila 2 bulan, you akan rasa perlu or tak bottle warmer tu. I bought mine pun masa Tisyia dah 11 bulan, masa dia dah pandai nak say no to susu. So, daripada susu rugi, baik letak dlm bottle warmer, takdela basi kan.
But stealiser yes, you mmg perlukan once you bottlefeed your baby. If breastfeed tak payah pun.
As the last advice, nak ajar botol, pastikan cuba bagi dlm tempoh as early as 6weeks, before the baby dah kenal puting. I bet babies are very very expert in choosing puting hoho.
And the best puting is mom's one ;)

Hi Anita.. am a silent reader and mommy of two. Both bottle warmer and steriliser are both handy stuff to have around if you plan on bottle feeding. The steriliser is helpful in strelising your bottles and breast pump nozzle - especially in the early days. All you have to do is set the streliser and 10 mins later, all is sterile and fit for baby. It saves boiling up the equipment - takut air kering and hangus lak the bottles. Plus, the items can be kept sterile in the unopened container for up to 6 - 8 hours. Bottle warmer is great for warming up milk. With my first one, I got an Avent - it's good for both wide necked and narrow necked bottles as well as baby food jars. Mothercare's own brand is cheaper and equally good as well.
Re the breast pump and corresponding bottles, you should check your breast pump. If it is for use with wide necked bottle attached to it, it can only be used for wide necked bottles, tak kisah which brand. Medela pumps can be used only with narrow necked bottles. I just pump my milk direct into the bottles and store them in the fridge ready to be used with sterile teats.

babe, warmer TT yg i beli tue, can suit all bottles..utk the 1st year bottles tue, boleh masuk...
for TT sterilzer pun sama.. masa i gi kedai beli tue, i siap suruh sales person tue test for each of every brand samada boleh suit dengan warmer n sterilzer.. if u nak beli, i think, u boleh bt mcm yg i buat.. so that lebih confidence.. o ya lagi 1.. masa i jalan2 tue, ada 1 satu brand nama Little Bean if i'm not mistaken.. acc to the sales person, nie Malaysia punya brand (Malaysia brand is not that bad kan?) Dia kata Little bean pun blh masuk sume bottle..and the best thing is, it is only RM179 for both sterilzer & warmer!(I tgk kat mom's care ampang point is RM199..the cheap RM179 at BBstore).
Klu sterilizer yg microwave plak, cheaper than yg biasa, but u kena ada microwave la.. and for me tak bape convenient sbb klu nak travel jauh2, if takde microwave, susah plak nak steril..it's just my opinion...
Warmer tue for me, still penting from the newborn (as what i see my sis in law slalu buat).. sbb my sis in law, simpan susu badan dlm fridge,so, klu u nak, just panaskan je dlm warmer... so lbh easy.. sbb tak semestinya warmer tu utk kegunaan susu lebihan yg baby minum jer kan.. faham ke apa i ckp nie.. terbelit2 dah..hahaha
But I rasakan..it's ok to have different brand for bottles n sterilizer but make sure the bottles can fit with the sterilizer.. that's all.. yg penting, beli mana yg affordable..
I beli breast pump mini electric from medela.. as TT doesn't provide electrical breast pump..hanya ada manual.. so, breast pump tu mmg tak suit dgn botol TT..i beli breast pump dpt free storage medela..so, okla.. nnt klu nak guna, transfer jer kat botol TT tue.. but mini electric nie pun,just for occasional use..tak boleh guna kerap sgt..so case u, u test dulu.. if bottle 1st year tue suit dengan breast pump dr.brown's u, no need la beli2 lagi..bazir jer..
Lastly Knit, warmer Avent mahal juga.. it is RM277 compared to TT i beli RM135 jer..I tgk warmer Avent my sis in law dengan my TT, sama jer.. (both product fr UK). Same goes with Avent sterilzer for RM359 compared to my TT sterilizer only RM299.
p/s-I bought Tommie Tippie Nuby Natural Touch bottles fr my fren kat UK..takde lagi kat sini.. sbb dah jalan merata sume kata takde bottle nie..saje ngengada..oh ya.. harap my baby tak tolak teats nie as ur fren said...anak mama kena dgr ckp mama dia..hehehe(sebenarnya mama dia yg gedix lebih nak itu ini...zaman kita dulu, botol biasa yg RM3.90 jer agaknya..hahahaha)

agree with shu..bli yg suits all brands..actually,i dont hav any warmer n steriliser pun..for warming my ebm,ct cuma rendam je dlm air panas..for sterilizing,ct akn sterilize all equipment using sterilize tablet.then evry time nk pakai sume bilas dgn air panas.for me,mula2 pun bli 1 TT botol n breastpump avent yg de 2btl inside.coz i set my mind to fully breastfeed.lps tu bila dh 1bln n mula nk wat stok susu for ebm baru cari botol lain.mula2 bli jgk avent storage btl tp mahal then i use momlittleone btl n it's bpa free from this site.http://www.sayangbabyibu.com..for feeding i use MAM anticolic btl.http://www.mymam.com.my..puting mam ni softflow n lembut je..sgt ssuai utk baby yg suka muak/muntah byk2 cm haziq.i notice his reflux getting better after using this btl.orait,if u'r plan to breastfeed exclusively,start keep ebm stock after a month..

bottle warmer nih tak berapa diperlukan actually. Why would you need bottle warmer if you are directbreastfeeding kan? nevertheless, It's very usefull for babysitter/nursery yang rasa memanas kan EBM (expressed breast milk) itu melecehkan dan lambat. So a bottle warmer would be helpful for them. Cepat dan mudah. beli yg bleh masuk botol besar like avent, MAM. kalau yg tuh leh masuk, yg botol kekecik nih bleh masuk punya.
streliser pun sama,if boleh sumbat botol besar like avent/MAM, semua botol lain bleh masuk. avent is one of them. like me, pakai avent streliser, cepat, 6 min dah siap. but then i only use it 6-8 time je sejak beranak. haha pasal malas nak nyusun botol2 dalam tu. rendam dalam air panas mudah, bleh masuk banyak2 dalam besen. other option of strelising is guna streliser tablet.

actually apa yg fren kasik tau tuh betul, provided that you have the adapter to convert narrow-wide necked bottle or vice versa. medela ada jual adapter untuk gune wide necked bottle pada medela pump. spectra plak memang dah sediakan adapter tuh skalik. not sure if avent ada jual adapter untuk narrow necked bottle though. pahamkah? tak paham ada contoh.. heheh http://www.mybreastpump.com/medelaaventbreastpumpconversionkitpage.html

My SIL gave birth to twins in Dec and I tak ada pulak nampak she uses any bottle warmer and sterilizer even she pumps her breastmilk. And your entry regarding this very helpful to me sebab I pun nak beranak bulan 9 jugak nih. I guess being a frist timer, I beli semua je la senang.
Okay back to her story, I think she either use a microwave to help warm up the milk, tak pun rendam dalam bekas with water & letak dalam frigde. I knw she doesn't have a sterilizer sebab in the US we have a dishwasher (mesin basuh pinggan mangkuk) so it has a cycle macam washer jugak. After the heat dry in it, dia just keluarkan and keringkan lagi kat luar with the bottle rack. So far my niece and nephew tak ada problem lagi with colic ke apa. And she uses the bottle with a long 'straw attached to the lid' so that will help the baby not to suck the air while sucking the milk.
I'm looking at Medela Breat Pump, bottle, everything. Now ni semua bottle dah BPA free, at least bila tengok pada sticker on packaging la. But that's here in the US, hopefully kat Msia pun dah ada BPA free bottle available.
